2012 Winter/Spring Season

Dear Friends,

Amazingly, 2012 marks our Thirtieth Season of weekly concerts in Nyack.

Bill Hargrove founded the series in 1982, and it has kept presenting weekly concerts ever since. For years, the series has supported the careers of countless musicians. It has become a model for the arts in our society, where listening to great performances is a way of life. But its greatest legacy is how it continues to bring people together to enjoy beautiful music.  

After twenty-five years of great performances at Saint Paul’s Church in Nyack, the series has enjoyed a renaissance since its move to The Nyack Library in 2008. Under the leadership of the Soiree Society of the Arts, the series became a legitimate concert venue. With the support of Yamaha Artist Services, the series earned itself a reputation as one of the best places to listen to live music.  

During the 2011 Fall Season, the series increased its schedule to three weekly concerts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Its new calendar supports a wide range of music, from Piano Recitals and Chamber Music, to Singer Songwriters, Jazz and Blues. The artistic diversity of the series has created a special community of musicians. It continues to seek out new partnerships with local music groups like the Rockland Jazz & Blues Society, Dylan School of Music, Music Amici, the  Rockland County Music Teachers Guild, and others.

I invite you to support the concerts by ordering a subscription/annual pass, becoming a member of the Carnegie Room Society, and inviting friends to discover the series for themselves so that we can enjoy thirty more years of incredible music!
